9 strategies for supporting student for Quran studies
1. Encourage your child to learn Quran with Tajweed every day and make sure they are rewarded for their efforts.
2. Make Quran learning a part of your family’s daily routine by reading and discussing a few verses together each night.
3. Help your child connect with the meanings of the Quran by explaining how its teachings can be applied to their everyday life.
4. Let your child know that it’s okay to make mistakes and that they can always ask for help if they don’t understand something.
5. Provide your child with a variety of resources such as online lessons, audio recordings and translations to help them learn at their own pace.
6. Encourage your child to recite Quran aloud and/or participate in recitation competitions at school or within the community.
7. Help them develop a love for Allah (SWT) and His Prophet ﷺ by frequently mentioning their names in conversation and reading stories about them from reputable sources.
8. Make dua for your child’s success in Quran learning and other academic pursuits.
9. Reward them with gifts, praise and acknowledgement whenever they make progress in their studies.
